Parker Ranch

If you are more interested in house museums and shopping, you may want to combine your ride with a visit to Parker Ranch museums and shops located less than 10 minutes from Aaah The Views Bed and Breakfast.

Ranch Tradition on the Big Island

Ka’ aina o ka paniolo is the name for Hawaiian Cowboy. The tradition started in 1793 when a British sea captain George Vancouver gave the Hawaiian King, Pai`ea Kamehameha, a gift of long horned cattle. The king placed a kapu (royal sacred protection) on the cattle, allowing them to roam and breed freely. Click on this link to learn more about the Hawaii horseback riding tradition and Paniolo life.
